Nature loss is a serious financial risk, and - as specialists in assessing long‑term risk - actuaries have a vital role in responding to it.

Nature‑centrism offers a way for actuaries to look beyond financial metrics and consider the health of whole ecosystems.

By recognising the deep interdependence between human and more‑than‑human worlds, actuaries can develop richer, more realistic assessments of emerging risks.

Our project will develop a set of nature-centric scenarios, and a wider Toolkit to help actuaries explore how biodiversity loss and ecosystem change could shape future financial risks**.**

We will collaborate with 'more-than-human' governance innovators, to test creative, experimental approaches that bring 'nature's voice' into decision-making.

Together, this project contributes to a long‑term shift in global finance, helping move the sector away from narrow forms of economism and towards decision‑making that protects and regenerates the living systems on which we all depend.
